Jesus Urged His Followers to Be Good Stewards and to Act For Good in the World Here and Now.  We Respond by Caring for God's Created World Today, Holding Our Environment in Trust for Our Children.

We believe pillaging of the earth, its resources, and its creatures is a colossal failure of responsible stewardship and is also a failure to honor God, to whom the earth belongs.

Jesus told his followers not to be distracted from their mission in the world by rumors and speculations about the "end times."  We believe that using the "end-times" today as a justification for wreaking destruction on the created world is simply a smokescreen to hide the real motive - greed - which Jesus warned his followers against.

As members of the family that is America, we all share our country's mountains, forests, deserts, rivers, seas, and air. These treasures will be the common inheritance of all our children and their children. If we fail to be faithful stewards, we squander our children's inheritance and dishonor the gift of God's creation. As faithful stewards, we are obliged to call for public policies that preserve the natural riches of our nation for the public good and for the glory of the Creator.

Holy Scripture tells us that when Jesus wanted and needed to speak with God in the most intimate way, he turned to the great treasures of earth's beauty - to the mountains, the wilderness, the Sea of Galilee, the garden. In God's natural world, in lilies, sparrows, trees, vineyards, Jesus found metaphors to teach his followers about God's love.  We insist that dismantling environmental laws and programs, measures that seek to protect creation and make it safer for our children is immoral and is a violation of our Christian duty.
